The APC operates with a skeleton staff of just three people: a general manager; a nutricionist; and a trainee administrator.
This means that much of our work relies on volunteer and pro-bono efforts. Volunteers can help us on a one-off or regular basis in the following areas:
· Food collection assistance – donors always contribute with more food in the presence of volunteers.
· Food wastage identification – volunteers visit sites where food wastage is likely to occur, such as street fairs or retail outlets and find out who would be the person responsible for authorizing food donations. They can then ask for a donation on behalf of the APC, or simply pass on the contact details for our team to make a request later.
· Culinary assistance – volunteers help us with our nutritionist visiting some instituitions and giving food manipulating courses
· Communications, marketing or advertising – volunteers help us prepare one-off campaigns or help us update our website and printed material
· Promote APC – volunteers promote our work in schools, universities or workplaces. This raises awareness of our mission and brings new volunteers and doners.
· Fundraising / Events – APC doesn´t employ a professional fundraiser. Volunteers can help us by researching grants and fundraising oportunities, distributing our marketing material, assisting with or planning their own events.
Whatever your skills, experience, we would love to hear from you! |
