Associação Prato Cheio is a Non-Governmental Organization, certified as OSCIP (Civil Society Organization of Public Interest).
Founded in 2001 by a group of university students who identified a large volume of wasted food in the São Paulo Municipal Market and began collecting and distributing it to charities.

Promote access to adequate food for people in social vulnerability, through food waste reduction and nutritional education, contributing to socio-environmental development.

Prato Cheio’s operations are based on 3 axes of action: Urban Harvest, which is based on the collection of fresh food that would be discarded safely and its subsequent transfer; Education and Systematization of Knowledge, focused on producing content for different audiences and Innovation and Sustainable Development, aimed at promoting fair and sustainable food systems.
Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals, Prato Cheio projects contribute directly to fight against hunger (SDG 2), to promote sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11) and to promote responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), as it reduces food waste and brings quality food to people in socially vulnerable situations.
